Beauty Haul: Sleek, Revolution, Rimmel & Maybelline

I'm going to go ahead and confess something: I did not buy a single beauty product this summer. None. I bought so many things last Spring that I felt like I just had to at least use some of them before I even thought about spending more money. It worked, I've been using products that I had barely even looked at before, so that was good. However, my spending ban came to an end a couple of weeks ago.

It all started because I needed a couple of things to feel prepared to kick off the new school year, so I went to The Body Shop and got their All-In-One BB cream (review here). Then I also had to get a new concealer because mine was running out and funnily enough I didn't have any other that I liked at home. I went to the mall, got another tube of my current favourite drugstore concealer... and then I started spending money on makeup again. (As you will see the economic damage is not irreparable so I should not be sent to Shopaholic Anonymous. Yet.)

I'd had my eyes on the Makeup Revolution palettes for a while now, especially on the Girls On Film one, but to purchase it I would have had to buy it online and we all know what happens when you want to buy one thing online. It's never just one thing. You end up with a full online basket. I was able to control myself, though, and I ended up getting only that palette plus Sleek's Blush By 3 palette in Sweet Cheeks... for 2'95€. Three blushers for less than 3€. I cannot believe life. I have not had the time to try them all yet, but I used the Candy Floss, darkest shade, yesterday and the colour payoff is unbelievable. Now that's how you shop.

As I said, originally I went out to buy a new tube of the Match Perfection concealer by Rimmel, which is great for every day use -even though the applicator is not my favourite thing-, but I ended up getting an eye liner and one of the new Baby Lips. I don't think it shows on camera but the eye liner, from the Soft Kohl collection by Rimmel, is *drum roll* purple! I keep hearing how purple eye liners make brown eyes stand out and so I had to give that a go. And lastly, apparently I was all about purple that day because I got the Berry Bomb lip balm. I didn't know whether I'd like it on the lips or not but somebody blogged about it (can't remember the blog, sorry!) and she absolutely convinced me. This is definitely going to be in my makeup bag every single day this autumn.

What have you bought lately?
Have you tried any of the products I mentioned?

FOTD: Sister + MUA Immaculate Palette

Bloggesphere meet my sister, sister meet the bloggosphere.

You know what's absolutely fantastic about having a 12 year old girl at home? That she lets me play around with my makeup on her face. Obviously she's too young to start wearing any makeup outside but whenever we're having a lazy day, the question always pops up: Can I do your makeup? Pleeeeaaaseeee?

A couple of weeks ago, in the middle of an "Oh my God I cannot finish all this in time I'm going to die why am I even allowed to go to uni" breakdown (if you've ever been a student, you know the kind), I went online shopping. One of the things I got was the MUA Pro Immaculate Collection Palette. I had never tried any MUA products myself but I'd heard wonders about the brand and wanted a new palette with a pop of colour so I thought that one would be perfect. As soon as my order arrived though, I started wondering how on Earth I was ever going to wear those colours. So I practiced on my sister.

The eye shadows don't have a name so I put together a couple of pictures so you don't have to go and check the colours elsewhere.

My sister is wearing:

Essence "I Love Stage" Eyeshadow Base
(It's not amazing but it does the job. Sort of.)
Shade 15 - all over the lid
Shade 1 - on top for a more vibrant colour
Shade 19 - outer corner and crease
Shade 14 - inner corner and lower lashline
H&M Eye Liner in "Chocolate"
Rimmel London Scandal'Eyes Mascara

And that's the mermaid-esque result! At first I felt like I was just playing around but I really liked the way it looked once I was finished - and I think my sister did too since she wouldn't stop talking selfies afterwards!

Do you dare wear bright eye makeup or are you more of a neutrals kind of girl?
Let me know! :)

Friday, Friday... EOTD!

Hello hello!
It's FRIDAY! *happy dance*

And as every Friday, I have the day off, so I have a little more time in the morning to play with my makeup and try new looks. That's why I wanted to do an Eyes Of The Day post.
Sadly, my camera's been playing up and it's not focusing as it should and my undereye circles and this silly cloudy day aren't helping either, so I haven't been able to do much! Anyway this is what's come out of a morning of me getting on my nerves.

> Essence I love Stage Eyeshadow Base
> Sleek Palette (Oh So Special) - Bow, inner corner
> Sleek Palette (Oh So Special) - Organza & Gateau, blended in
> Sleek Palette (Oh So Special) - Celebrate, outer corner and bottom lash line
> Essence Gel Eyeliner - 01 Midnight in Paris
> KIKO False Lashes Concentrate (Volume Top Coat Mascara)

It does look at bit darker than what I was going for so I tried not to get too carried away with the Celebrate shadow, otherwise I feel like it'd be too much for a day look (besides, I had to go to my old high school to pick up some documents, so I thought it wouldn't be too fitting to look like I was going out!).

Also, I was just reading some blogs and I feel like doing the Spring tag, so that will probably be up either tomorrow or Sunday. :)

Have a great weekend!

Wonder Mama & MAC Courses

Hello hello!

Sorry for my absence this week (I know, I know - what a start!) but I've been unexpectedly busy and having terrible headaches, so I haven't been able to sit here and write a proper post. My apologies.

I am here now to talk about this:
I got an e-mail yesterday morning from Sephora and it got me excited all day. Spanish Mother's Day is right around the corner and they're throwing a Wonder Mama party on Saturday April 27th, 12 - 2:30 pm, sponsored by Benefit and the magazine Yo Dona. Makeup, pop art, superheroes, surprises and discounts on all your purchases. I wouldn't miss it for the world...

...but my mom would. She's so not into the makeup world and I'm using the "Mom, but if your daughter dresses up as a superhero you get a gift for every thing you buy!" excuse ("But are you going to dress up as anything?" Well I COULD) but so far she's refusing to go. Sigh.

In other news, my friend Laura recently got an e-mail from MAC talking about their short courses (100% Glamour, False Lashes, Bridal, Makeup Express, etc) and we were thinking about attending one of them. I know they're not particulary cheap, so has any of you taken any MAC courses? Are they worth the money?

Thank you & hope you're having a lovely week!

Daisies & Lipsticks - The Beginning

Hello to you reading this and welcome to my blog!

A few weeks ago I realized I was wasting way too much free time procrastinating instead of doing something useful with my life. Then I thought, what do you like to do the most? And the answer is: writing, English, makeup, fashion and so on. Which is the best way to let all this creativity out? That's it! A blog!

The truth is that talking about and wanting to do is much easier than actually doing it. It's taken me weeks to come up with a name I liked and to be honest, I'm still not sure of what this blog is going to be about! How unprofessional of me! To begin with, as I said, the content of this blog will include all things makeup and fashion. News I find interesting, reviews, things I enjoy or dislike. But in all honesty, I will probably end up talking about my two other great passions too, music and literature, because somehow I always end up rambling on. ;)

So basically, that's me. A girl with a lot of things to talk about and who's just found a creative getaway. I am no expert in any of these things but I'm already enjoying this, so hopefully if anyone reads this blog they'll enjoy it too.

Love,
-T-

PS. Pardon my English. I am not a native English speaker, so I'm very likely to make some mistakes!
